I have a friend who used to send me photos of makeup and skincare ingredients labels and ask me if they were any good. I’d glance at them and think, in theory, yes, but I didn’t know what all the ingredients in the formulas do.

I said to myself, why not buckle down and learn each one in skincare and beauty products. I grabbed my notebook and a pen and started googling. I didn’t realize it then, but I was laying the groundwork for the creation of my own beauty brand, 3 of Cups. 

Call it geek chic. I’m science-y. My bachelor’s degree is in mechanical engineering with a concentration in biomechanics and my master’s is in nursing. I’ll give you one guess as to what was my favorite part of nursing school. If you guessed dermatology, you win.

The knowledge I gained led me to make conscious changes in my own skincare routines. I became obsessed with the product labels and formula integrity because I saw real results. Today, at 42 years old, my skin measures to be that of a 33-year-old. 

I started sharing what I was learning on social media and did broke down ingredients in a way that was fun and made sense. My ingredient knowledge eventually landed me the role of Beauty Editor at Cosmopolitan Middle East, a full-circle moment for the girl who once read Cosmo cover to cover.

With my own brand, 3 of Cups, I obsess over ingredient integrity. I even had a manufacturer tell me they didn’t want to work with me because I was too picky over the ingredients. I have a solid understanding of how the body and skin works and what it truly needs to thrive. That knowledge is the backbone of every product I create.

My first formula is crafted to meet the highest standards of safety and efficacy and compliant with both U.S. FDA and EU cosmetic regulations. All my future formulas will follow suit, without fail. 

I don’t believe in empty buzzwords or performative wellness. 3 of Cups is consciously formulated with potent, proven ingredients that speaks to our cells and our spirit.
