Little Girl, Big Potions
by Lauren
I can tell you that I started developing 3 of Cups about three years ago, but that’s not exactly true. My brand has been within me since I was a little girl, sitting on our picnic-style kitchen table in our one-story house making soap with my mom.
She had bought a kit, and one summer day, I held a wooden spoon trying in earnest to mix the hot, liquid glycerin with essential oils in a cooking pot.
That wasn’t my first time creating skincare (and I use that term loosely!). As a kid, I loved making potions in the shower with the family’s shampoos, conditioners, and my dad’s shaving cream. Once in a while, I’d add a VO5 Hot Oil Treatment. Remember those?
In my heart of hearts, I knew that one day I’d have my own beauty brand. I didn’t know how or when, but I knew I’d do it. It was something I wrote in the stars long before I was born.
Looking back, I wasn’t making a mess, I was dreaming. Now, decades, degrees, and a breast cancer journey later, I’m finally launching the brand I imagined in those early days of potions and soap making. Dreams really do come true.
