A Tarot Card, a Sisterhood, and the Soul of Skincare
by Lauren
Naming a beauty brand is no small thing. After mulling over countless names, I finally picked one sometime during 2021. I filed a trademark with a lawyer, only to have it rejected over a year later. I was really shocked at the time, but let me tell you, rejection is divine redirection.
That name wasn’t meant to stick, because it wasn’t meant for the brand I was building.
I asked my soul for a hit of inspiration, and it came. I was driving down Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai when a thought popped into my mind.
Why not name my brand after my favorite tarot card?
The 3 of Cups.
This card is depicted by three women dancing in a circle, holding golden chalices above their heads in celebration. The women are barefoot and draped in luxurious robes. At their feet lay a harvest of fruits and vegetables, symbolizing joy, abundance, and nourishment.
The card represents so many aspects of life that I hold dear to my heart. Shared wins. Emotional connection. Flowing ideas. Feminine energy. Acceptance. Healing through sisterhood (I can’t emphasize this one enough having gone through my breast cancer journey). Sacred bonds. Support. Feeling safe to be seen. Alignment of mind, body, and soul. Creativity. Life’s sweet moments.
